Erica Bryant was born in Rochester, during an April snowstorm. She is a reporter for the Democrat and Chronicle, writing about education, incarceration and points in between. She lives in Brighton with her husband, three children and a night blooming cereus. She likes junk sales, Toni Morrison novels and ugly endangered species.
